Mike Gascoyne & Force India/Spyker
Mike Gascoyne

Orange becomes Mike Gascoyne. His bright Spyker shirt, brushed back hair and dark goatee beard all combine with a recently acquired tan to roll back the years. He looks little older than the man who spearheaded technical departments at Renault, Jordan, and Toyota. As a matter of fact, he looks as keen and enthusiastic as he did back in his Tyrrell days under the late Dr Harvey Postlethwaite, a man he still mentions continually and clearly reveres. Perhaps it’s his enforced escape from the corporate environs of Toyota, and resultant lengthy ‘gardening’ leave; perhaps a new romance with former Toyota Paddock Club manager Sylvie Schaumloeffel. It could be many things, but Gascoyne looks lean, relaxed and as determined as ever to prove that he can make a major difference to any team. It is clear that he feels comfortable in his new environment.
