Neil Shepherd
Another chapter is about to be written in the winged 410 Sprint Car racing history books. Second generation driver Neil Shepherd took the midwest Sprint Car racing scene by storm early in the 2006 season and quickly made a name for himself – a name that should be somewhat familiar to All Star fans from the early nineties. Neil’s father, Terry Shepherd, was the 1990 All Star Champion in the NIPS (Northern Indiana Paint Supply) sponsored 4n car in what was only his first full season with the series. He won the point title but never visited victory lane that year on his way there. Terry competed with the All Stars for a few more years and then called it quits in 1996. Neil Shepherd is a name that may not have popped up on your radar screen like names such as Kraig Kinser or Kevin Swindell, both heirs to their legendary father’s thrones, but his is a name you will want to remember.
