Lucas, Lucas, Lucas …It seems the name is everywhere in today’s world of motorsports. But unlike the middle Brady sister who constantly complained that nobody ever talked about anyone but, “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha,” no one’s got a beef with the Lucas Oil Company’s involvement in dirt racing. The Lucas company, under the guidance of founder Forrest Lucas, has in recent years had a profound impact on the face of Dirt Late Model racing (along with a dozen or so other forms of motorsports). There’s much that can be said about Lucas Oil’s involvement in Hot Boats, NASCAR upper echelon tours, Tractor Pulling, Drag Racing, Off Road Racing, Off Shore Boat Racing, Monster Trucks, Sprint Cars and others, but for Dirt Late Model fans, it’s pretty simple: Lucas’ involvement has contributed to the continuing professionalism in our sport.
