Darrel DeFrance
For race fans around the Midwest, it seems as if Marshalltown, Iowa’s Darrel DeFrance has been racing forever. No slam against DeFrance, who has been one of the most entertaining racers in the region the whole time. Starting at the age of 16, the 47-year-old DeFrance has turned more laps at the front of the pack than by Barry Johnson some racers have turned in any position on the track in their entire career. From weekly shows to the big shows, DeFrance has towed his 99D into them all. He has towed in to the tune of some 200 Late Model feature wins, a peak he reached just this past season. So with all of the years, the laps and the wins, the time has come for DeFrance to say he’s just getting started.
