Paolo Martinelli

Paolo Martinelli took charge of the Ferrari Formula One engine department in 1995. That was the last year in which Ferrari ran a V12 in Grand Prix racing: since then the marque has run a V10 and now a V8. Martinelli’s V10s powered Ferrari to the Constructors’ Championship in 1999 then Michael Schumacher to the World Championship in 2000. That was the start of a roll: it was not until 2005 that Ferrari’s V10 failed to win the title.
