Bernoulli is a brand new quarterly journal that explores in unprecedented depth the theory and practice of road and race car aerodynamics. Its incisive content includes road and race car aero design and development studies and insights into wind tunnel design and operation, the use of CFD and on-track aero testing techniques. Bernoulli is essential reading for all those involved in the operation of wind tunnels, wind tunnel developers and suppliers of rolling roads, instrumentation and flow visualization technology. It is equally vital for model makers and testing service providers and for suppliers of CFD software and design and manufacturing software. Bernoulli is produced by an award-wining editorial team headed by William Kimberley. Contributors include a number of high-profile racing engineers, and specialists in different aspects of car aerodynamics.

Miniature masterpieces
Lola model

Hand in hand with the proliferation of wind tunnels has been that of the model maker, especially as not every wind tunnel is full size. The models themselves vary in scale but usually are 40, 45 or 50% reflecting the wind tunnels themselves. The models themselves are not crude reproductions of the vehicle they represent, but are finely honed works of art that take many man hours to build. Often their construction is out-sourced to specialist companies like C&B Consultants, but sometimes they are kept in house, as at the Auto Research Center (ARC) in Indianapolis.
